How do Lomas Distribution get away with the speed their trucks are going? Around Buxton, Ashbourne and Uttoxeter area on single carriageways they are always doing speeds close to or on their limiters (and their limiters are set on the high side of 56mph) instead of 40mph. Why did the driver today with the new FH tractor unit and powder tanker for no reason think it is fine to tailgate a coach carrying school children at 50 mph with a 4 metre gap at times on the A518 Stafford to Uttoxter. At that speed and distance behind the coach, the children wouldn’t stand a chance if the coach had to stop in an emergency. I’m sure no one on this site would like to think of their children being on that coach with such a pr*ck behind!
No different to these dumb ■■■ coach drivers tailgating anything that doesn’t do 100kph and using the fast lane when it suits them ,I had no choice earlier this year but to go on a coach from London to luton the driver sat in the middle lane going in and out of top gear tailgating constantly .

Yeah,they do get a move on,had one the other night behind me,trying to push me along,ain`t going to do it when the load moves about like it does. You also get ones that drive well and more sensible, strange but sounds like any company out there to me!.
Gotta say they do seem to employ some of the most impatient drivers on the road, you’d think all that bling would make them slower.
Can’t say I’ve noticed worse or better driving from these fellas. I do smile at the speed they do, but it bothers me not one iota for two reasons; firstly they’ll be past me and gone, certainly not holding me up, and secondly they are sure to attract any lurking police cars ahead, thus ensuring that I’m left alone.
I do think that there appears to be an element of jealousy concerning their “exuberant” limiters.
Think Lomas and Fernwood employ the same speed limiter tweeting operative neithers vehicles hang about as soon as they’ve forced you back into lane 1

Calm down! We all see bad and dangerous driving from any kind of road user everyday whatever they’re driving. I am not getting into arguing about truck and coach drivers and all that. I’m not one to moan about every time I am cut up etc but Lomas distribution trucks always seem to be driven hard. Considering that their Buxton depot is a 30 odd miles from any dual carriageway or motorway why, considered the size of their operation is it not noticed when they analyse the tachograph downloads that they are nowhere near doing 40. Eventually they will come under the scrutiny of vosa
maybe vosa leave them alone because lomas’s garage is also a vosa testing station .
