If you are going west on the A5 and want to pass through Llan, please bear in mind that while the planners did a good effort pedestrianising Castle Street, Llan is very much a recreational town with families with toddlers, canoeists, choirs, climbers and cyclists. all welcome, croeso,but it can be a bit of a scrum

A marvel of Georgian engineering, and a Health and Safety Managers worst nightmare…
It always reminds of the 2009 emptying of the aquaduct, for maintenance reasons. All the workers, and dignitairies, stood there, replendid in Hi-Viz and life jackets. Of course, when you are working next to a 4 foot deep canal, you must wear a life jacket. How the life jacket would have saved someone from falling of the 100+ foot high aquaduct, which has no railing on one side… remains a mistery to this day

Maybe they thought they might fall off and land in a puddle in the field below. I’ve been across there in a narrow boat and not for a second did I feel unsafe.
