Little white box in CH trucks?

Quick question:
Whats with the little white box with orange LEDs on thats in the windows of Swiss trucks?
Was down there recently and couldnt work out what they were for.
Sorry, didnt get a picture of one.

Cheers

i have always wondered it too, buzzard boy may know the answer (i wondered if it was to do with road tolls?)

IT is indeed the SWISS LVSA maut box which makes life easier
for those non-swiss vehicles that have this fitted,

i have only ever seen them in swiss registered vehicles though pete…

You can get them fitted when you ask at the LVSA OFFICE;
When the firm I used to work for had the contract of running two
lorries into Widnau daily it was cheaper and quicker to have them fitted with the maut unit, this is allowed but has to be done in Switzerland in a reconised
workshop, saved lots of time and trouble at the borders,

Also have to be down loaded every month, or the operator is fined 80 francs for late payment :slight_smile:

Not a clue what this means, but this is what search engine said.

Christ can you see that sort of thing comming here. some people have a hard job understanding dig tacho’s :unamused: :unamused: :unamused:

Just to cheer you all up, In Germany the driver is responsible
for the correct useage of the maut unit any problems ,Then it is the DRIVER
who will be penalised first unless it can be shown otherwise,
