My old license had to be renewed in October 2013 ,which meant a medical,driver trainer confirmed this when he recently checked it.
But I had to send it away this month as my photo is out of date,it’s just come back with

Does this mean my licence is now valid for a artic until march 2018,why no medical in October 2013

45,rog,so I’m sure I’m due a medical,but date now on entitlements is now 2018,where as before they were 2013,they’ve given me as far as I can see 5 years from photo renewal,whereas I should of still needed a medical in October this year,ill get hold of our driver trainers and get them to look.thanks

Call them yourself with your driver number and ask them when your last D4 medical was done and when your next D4 medical is due
If they say next D4 is due in 2018 then ask them to confirm it in writing to you
If they confirm in writing then you are legally covered until 2018 = yippee

could it that as he was not 45 yet and now you self medical there may hove done that?
I don’t think this is a ■■■■ up.
As from Jan this year all HGV and PCV licences have to be renewed every 5 years. They are going through the process of bringing these expiry dates in line with photo card expiry so that we renew the medical every 5 years and photo every other medical.
Any photo card renewed now should come back with a new 5 year expiry for the medical and 10 year for the photo.
If under 45 these medicals are a simple self declaration.
That’s how I see it anyway - not happened to me so not an expert.
