I have a conflict of renewal dates on my licence. This is not due to having been disqualified at any time in the past.
My birthday is on 15 August when everything should be due, but:
my HGV expires 19/8/13
my PSV expires 15/4/13
my photograph expires 8/13 (?15/8/13)
my digicard expires 28/1/13
(my DCPC grandfather rights expire on 10/9/13)
Apart from being diddled out of four months entitlement on my PSV, I can see an awful lot of potential aggro relating to the photograph and medical, days and days in the post etc. I can almost certainly predict that one of the supermarkets is going to object to finding two different photographs on the digicard and the licence.
Your driver card and DCPC grandfather rights are irrelevant, you don’t need the same photo on the driver card as the license and unless I’m missing something the DCPC doesn’t even come into the equation.
So the big question is do you use the PSV license or could you leave it until the HGV categories are renewed.
I think you’ll find that the expiry dates for the photo and HGV category are close enough to be of no consequence, you should be able to renew them together.
Very odd in having LGV & PCV with seperate medical expiry dates because they are usually both aligned with the 5 year date from the last medical as one medical covers both - Perhaps the next medical will align them - make sure you inform DVLA that the next medical is for both but they SHOULD know that … yeah right !!
I would send in a new photo with the next medical to do both at the same time - make sure you fill in all apropriate forms
When renewing digicard they will copy whatever photo they have for your current driving licence so no probs there
LGV dcpc aquired rights is one year later than the PCV so if you only drive LGV then you have until 09/09/2014
On completion of the 35 hours dcpc the right to drive PCV commercially will be re-instated if that is after 09/09/2013
