Any idea on the history of this one…looks like a cornish reg number. Conway Bailey’s perhaps (they run a fleet of roadtrains a few years back
I saw the same truck at Truckfest Peterborough this year parked right in the far corner of the show ground. I was going to speak to the driver but my son wanted to go look at something more “interesting”
Also saw this nice example at this years Trans Pennine run at Harrogate.
I must admit I still like the T45
simon seargents the one he won from the truckmag

Me Too Aidey
mine went like stink 290■■■■■■■ in it, with that good ol axle noise they had .
my mate used to wear ear plugs when driving his one !!
Saw this heading south the other week on the A34 looks like it was going to some sort of show.
Doe’s anyone remember ‘Barbers of Oughtibridge’ they used to have a fistful of Roadtrains on the ACL contract out of Seaforth/Felixstowe. IIRC they were all painted different stripey colours and all had the air deflector kit fitted. I think they were all new B & C reg with the 320 ■■■■■■■ and what’s really weird is that around 92/93 Barbers got some of the NETTO contract out of the old United Carriers depot at Gildersome, Leeds and I did some agency work for them and ended up using one of the old Roadtrains! They must have been nearly 10yrs old by then but still went like the proverbial s** off a shovel.
I do have some photos and as soon as I find & scan them they will be up on here.
used to take empty box’s in there, are they still goin ?

I think it was the reduction hubs that made most of the noise, wasn’t it ?
Hi curnock,
If your question was about ‘Barbers of Oughtibridge’ No i’m sure they closed it down quite a while ago. Oughtibridge was only a small South Yorks; village, as you’d know if you took boxes in there, but Barbers were probably one of the biggest transport employers, they had a lot of whareousing and distribution going on over and above the container work they did. Also as they were just down the road from the British Steel works at Stocksbridge I’m sure this was what got them started.
There was also another haulage Co; that worked just up the road from them, next village I think, Deepcar Transport ran bulk tippers & flats on coal & steel not as big as Barbers but used to run Volvos 86’s & F10’s
Think they were two tone blue? does anyone remember them??
Yes Dave I remember Deepcar Transport. They were originally known as RSB -Revill sons and Broadbent. They did a lot of work out of Stocksbridge and IIRC did some work out of a railhead near Wakefield with bulkers - the name Cobra springs to mind.I’m not sure if they are still going though.
Barbers had an offshoot called Proctors Haulage who ran in the same livery.I didn’t know they had done container work and would be interested to know if they are still going.
Barbers were maroon and white and Deepcar were blue and white I think.
Chris.
seen some deepcar motors in brinsworh strip mills rotherham
