Yes - the body has been refloored and the old cab is keeping some other relics company…
Thank you for reply Fryske, the part chassis that old cab is dropped on looks like AEC,multileaf springs and the battery carrier under the cab floor?

Looks like the front end of an Ergo cabbed refueller

Great shot of a class motor ! I see it has the heavy backend so I wonder which engine it had under the bonnet ? 600 or 680 PP but as it only has a towing jaw at the back and not one at the fron’t it is probably the 600 engine, wish I had a tenner for every time I stood at the back of an Octopus to wave him back and hitch up those palm couplings, spit on the fingers and rub around the rubber seals !! Happy Days Cheers Bewick.
This was one of a pair of Leyland Octopus that joined the T. Brady and Sons Ltd. fleet in the early 60’s both were 680PP engines O/D 6 speed boxes and the heavy double drive back ends, but they were only 6 wheel braking even though they were equipped for towing a trailer. Cheers Bewick.

This particular Octopus only pulled a drawbar for a short while whereas it’s sister pulled a trailer for all but a short while at the end of it’s days.
