Ok here we go!
Work mon-fri 8-5 = 40hrs (NOT Transport Company)
I’m wanting to do agency work on weekends.
What’s proper procedure guys?.
In simple terms you can do one shift every other weekend, and on the weeks that you do that shift you need to fill in a blank tacho chart (or complete a manual entry on a digital tacho) to create a record for the work you did Monday to Friday in your day job.
Paul
so how come some people can work 7 days a week if they choose to (NOT TRANSPORT PEPS) ?

Well chap, most of us on here do two days work to your one in a week so I personally am glad that I cant work seven
Have a think about the difference in consequences between a desk jockey and a wheel jockey if they both fall asleep, that’s the difference I would say.
CHAP eh! Well I suppose there’s all one.
[zb].
FYI CHAP I have done 71hr weeks more than I care to think CHAP as am a driver that has took time out because of reasons I ain’t getting into with U .
So wind ur neck in CHAPPIE
So how’s this?
Finish at 5pm fri- (Ha let’s say desk job - to keep shropsbri happy) total 40hrs. start for agency at 2am (9hrs later) do a 12hr-taking me to a total of 52hrs (ok bri?) and it’s now 2.00pm on sat!. 9hrs off taking time to 11:00pm Saturday start shift do a 10hr taking hrs worked to (bri?) that’s right 62hrs .
the time is now 08:00am Sunday. Start work Monday morn 08.00 after having had 24hrs off any good? Or a 9hr shift on the saturday Night giving me 25hrs min weekly rest . And yes bri I know I must return lost rest. ■■?

If you start a shift at 2300 on Saturday and work 10 hours that takes you to 0900 on Sunday which only gives you 23h before you start your office job at 0800 on Monday so you have not had the legally required rest.
But in general, if you could get two of those short, oddly timed shifts off the agency then you could potentially squeeze two shifts in and still get the minimum 24h of weekly rest. There are 63h between you finishing work on Friday and starting on Monday so if you factor in a 24h weekly rest and two 9h daily rests that leaves 21h which you could potentially work over two shifts. Obviously you could only do this every other week as on the other week you need a 45h weekly rest which would only allow you to do one shift of 9h at most (9h daily rest + 9h shift + 45h weekly rest = 63h).
The issue is you leave yourself open to a lot of problems if something goes wrong as if you got delayed on your second shift then you would not be able to legally work past 0800 on Sunday morning as you have to start your weekly rest period no less than 144h after ending the previous one (which ended at 0800 on Monday morning taking you to 0800 on Sunday morning). If you worked past 0800 Sunday for whatever reason it would be illegal.
HTH,
Paul

You’re an aggressive one arn’t you.
■■■■ me,you asked why people, not transport peeps can work seven days a week,if you didn’t want a reply then why ask?
That led me to believe, along with you saying you work 40 hrs,not in transport, that you didn’t know how many hours some of us work.
Oh and congrats for working 71 hours,no prize though I’m afraid but feel free to tell me why you took time out as I would love to know.
Wind my neck in
I don’t know they come in here without so much as a how’s yer father, upsetting everyone until they get what they want and then we’ll never see or here from them again! Hopefully.
Good lord he’s an angry type isn’t he. I thought ShropsBri’s reply was very reasonable
Ha no not aggressive!
Just don’t like people who just assumeing!
Also patronise . I bet you few are the ones that the transport guys see and think ( not this ■■■■■ and then u go out twisting about THEIR attitude ■■?
The type that go on treating newbies and agency guys with “I’ve done more miles with flat tyres than you have driven”
I tought that was the best i have heard so on ur way twits lol
But early to be on the booze isn’t it?
Daross:

Well you need to post differently then cos your posts definitely come across aggressive…
Daross:

How was he “assumeing” what hours you work? You quite clearly stated you only work part time (40 hours/week) in your first post on the thread!
Daross:

… and you claim not to be aggressive?

Oh dear,it seems you are the the one doing the assuming,if you have a bit of time take a look at our posts and you may see that we are indeed the complete opposite of what you “assume” with regards to newbies and I also did a 12 month stretch on agency so hardly going to slag those guys am I?
As regards to what the “transport guys” see and think…you might take a look in the mirror chap.
Aww bri what’s the matter son ?
Nothing wrong here dad,you crack on.
Ta ta.
