This hotel lacking signage is in the Central Business District, just around the corner from sibling International House, and within easy walking distance to all the sights. When this hotel opened in April 2002, it was an iconoclastic new entry to the hotel market here. In spite of reams of press and praise for the Loft, not everyone will find this austere retreat inviting or even comfortable.

Many years ago, I used to work in the INMARSAT building by Euston Station — it’s occupied by British Rail now.
On one occasion, I had to perform a telecommunications “Line of Sight” Survey for a microwave link, from the top of the building (about 15 floors up, no parapet safety wall round the top 
- and no safety harness 
) to Kings Cross Station.
And it’s bloody windy around Euston — I was in genuine danger of being blown off the roof! 
Funny, I’m not too keen on heights now …. but it was a fabulous view of London!
