a driver i knew in the early 70’s left direct transport and went to work for leonard green
his name was davey hodgeon, we used to call him davey crockett, lived in doncaster i believe
in the early 70’s he would have been around 50- 55 years of age, anyone remember him

Well spotted david I thought the same thing when you posted it,so it will have been big alf driving it,your dad told me that cun was bought second hand (north Wales reg)& Len senior paid for it with sixpenny pieces from slot machines he had,big alf gave me the pic shortly before he died --regards alan

Well I’ve trawled all over those photos and can’t see a good-looking young driver anywhere. There’s a rough-looking youth with arms folded in front of a converted bin waggon.
