Much respected ex Gravesend Haulier Len Valsler died earlier this month. Probably of interest to Bewick in particular.
A few shots of the three units he drove during the time he was at Bewick Transport

First shot is the first Borderer Len drove shot here one afternoon at the Mill at Beetham loaded for Gravesend and Rochester IIRC he ran down to stop at the Kernel cafe in Walsall ? one of his regular digs.
The second shot is the Borderer parked up at Gravesend on a Sunday evening and it was loaded with rail and fish plates for London Underground which had been loaded by me at Workington Steel the previous Friday.

These shots are of the new Borderer Len got in 1974 and the third shot was him at the wheel driving south on the M6 from Carlisle after competing in the LDOY that year.

The first shot is the new F88 Len got in March 1976( fleet name Margaret after his sister) and the second shot is standing in the yard at Milnthorpe loaded with pallets of Orange “C” for Sainsburys Charlton and the Seddon was being transferred to Gravesend for local shunting duties.
