Nice one, remember them flat roof F10’s coming into the mill were I worked, started to make one of them italeri models of one but never finished it as lasses,■■■■ and lager took over!

I remember Emersons when they had their yard in belton and ran exclusively for bardon hill quarry. My late father used to do a bit of part time for them . I remember going down to slough in a late 1950 s Leyland octopus with him. Their fleet was mainly leylands then.

There was an Emerson from Belton, still running a couple of years ago with an immaculate white & orange R series scania & tipper. He was something to do with the family.

He still is He had a Black Magnum for a bit then he drove for us for a few years he now has a topline scania ex Garners he’s doing Grain work pulling one of our trailers Glen

Higginsons used to park up at a farm on the left just before Earl Shilton (coming from Leicester),gunner.Merv forgot his surname,lately of H&B Transport used to drive an Atki for them,though i think he had the artic.i still see him on occasion,wandering about in S Wigston.

My father Ian is now a self employed agency driver and my auntie Stephanie Works part time at her village care home ,
I actually work at another old transport company ‘Federated’ if anybody remembers them?!?
I worked for Federated for nine years until March 83, memories still quite good as regards vehicle reg’s and drivers who drove them, still see one of my mates from those days, he’s retired, and occasionally see a lady from the office in Harborough.
I am still driving and wondering where the years have gone.
