Sorry guys, another post from a ■■■■■■ that doesn’t know what he is talking about. So I am getting in vehicles at work that only have around 50 mm of spray suppression !! Is this legal? I drive 12t rigids just to give you an idea, yes do not take the ■■■■ I know it’s a van!! I have looked around but can’t seem to get a straight answer clarifying what is legal and what is illegal regarding spray suppression. Thanks in advance guys I will stop being a ■■■■■■ eventually
Er you mean on your mud guards.
It’s all down to construction and use. ie how it’s made etc.
Now as far as I know it’s got to be a max? From the ground you’d have to look into C & U regs.
If your like our Fitters, it’s got to be an inch from the ground, so they get ripped off every day & they get paid to replace them.[emoji1]
Same as leaving old scrap electric pump trucks behind the trailer park, so they get a regular conveyor belt of rear lights to repair. [emoji57]
Especially with some of our Professional Class One ‘Drivers’ & Monkey Shunters/Forktruck Drivers.
I believe on a “normal” truck such as you describe it’s a maximum of 200mm from the ground, if I remember rightly. So it doesn’t matter how much you have, it’s where it is placed I think.
Can anyone actually list what is legal here is a picture of a truck I used the other day and I am thinking illegal!

Might help if you explain why YOU think it’s illegal
For the majority of vehicles in “normal” use, the maximum distance from the ground is 200mm. Being governed by EU regs, there are dozens of exemptions and variations, but this is the general rule.
The one in the picture appears to have been damaged, though I may be wrong.
Hope this helps, Pete
Obviously is hard to get a sense of scale from that angle. But I’d say that looked fine to me.
If you were being petty you could argue there was a small chunk out of the corner of it.
That was a really really ■■■■ picture I apologise and will try and get a better on but it looks like it has been torn off and is quite a way away from the ground I was just curious if there had to be a set length ect?
It probably at some point was ripped off, by someone reversing over it up a kerb/obstacle.
As stated if it is still within 200mm of the ground then its fine.
The problems of driving a different 12t VAN each day eh pal?
I wouldn’t know though, as I drive the same 26t VAN every day…
Simple question mate, is the mudguard the same on the other wheel?
Or has that one been tore off as well■■?
Yes but how long is your van Beezle, it’s not all about weight you know lol
It’s a tautliner (curtain sider) with rear steer, so fairly long mate!
I’d guess about 13-14m
