they could have picked you up in a caravanette tucked you up in bed and then drove you back … simples

do i have to think of everything myself :unamused:

Daily rest cannot be taken in a moving vehicle  Think again

Unless a ferry or train with acceess to a couch or couchette :wink:

So which was the caravanette? ferry or train?

Either which way - what the OP did was illegal. travel to or from anywhere but the regular place of work and home is counted as other work. Therefore after 15 hours duty the driver cannot legally travel (unless on a ferry or train) regardless of who owns the vehicle or what type of vehicle. The rules clearly state that TRAVEL is classed as work. Check the definition of travel - β€œTo go from one place to another”.

This is a prime example of an employer clearly taking the β– β– β– β–  and taking advantage of a driver. A 15 hour duty period is more than long enough without the company taking liberties with road safety

And why is it that every driver that ever worked for me knew this rule off by heart everyday of the week except Friday afternoon when he was due home :unamused:
