What news on the LHD C-series preservation front? Robert
Has the trail on this Gulf-dwelling old C-series ERF with LHD gone cold?
What news from the front, boys?
Robert
What was the exact difference between a B-series and C-series when we exclude the minor difference on the grille?

If you read my 2nd post on page 1, I quote Jerry Cooke on this subject, in which he cites quite significant differences. Robert
Thank you! I skipped that quote and good improvements from B to C
ERF C60.

EXCELLENT finds, Adr! Thank you for posting these. Robert
DEANB kindly drew my attention to an ERF article which included this image of export LHD C-series units. Robert
Just acquired a 1982 ERF Motor Show brochure which features among other things, the 60C3 model which was the LHD C-series export tractor. Here is an image along with the spec data. Robert
Great article about export figgers and markets, but there’s no mention of NZ. This seams strange as surely NZ would have been one of ERF’s biggest markets?
.
I just wonder why no C-series (for some obvious reason there were no distributors anymore in the begin of the 80s)
were registrated in Holland, Belgium and Luxemburg…being ‘strong’ in terms of acceptance and the C being better
than its predecessor B…just a thought…

I think it was simply because ERF had already pulled out of Europe by the time the C-series came along. This explains why all the LHD C-series units went out to the Middle East as exports. ERF didn’t re-enter Europe until after the Euro borders were opened up and they started marketing the LHD E-series. Robert

Hi everyone I bought this Erf from Graham Ball shipped it back from Bahrain and it is now in a shed at my house in Retford. It had been stood in Bahrain for two years and previously to that in Qatar. It has just joined my queue of Scanias awaiting restoration. Cheers Nick

EXCELLENT news, Nick! I look forward to seeing it. Good luck with the project! Robert
Here’s a bit of a ‘fly in the ointment’! Jerry Cooke mentioned to me recently that some LHD C-series ERFs were exported with surplus-stock B-series SP cabs. To back that up, I have just found an entry on another ERF thread in which the blogger called ‘ERF’ who really knows his stuff (ie not ‘ERF-continental’ / ‘ERF-lover’ / ‘ERF-MAN’ etc!) states also that some C-series were exported with B-series cabs instead of the SP3 cab normally associated with the C-series. This makes accounting for hundreds of Taseco vehicles quite difficult, and indeed many of the Middle-East LHD exports because it won’t be so easy to identify them by photographs alone. The thick plottens again! Robert
According to a post on the ERF A, B, C etc thread, this is now up for sale at c. £9K. Bloody hell, I wish I had somewhere safe to store it and the mechanical knowhow to maintain it! An ERF C-series with LHD, a big ■■■■■■■ and a 9-speed Fuller (need to check if it IS 9 and not 13) is the ultimate ERF in my opinion. Robert
Yes, it ticks all the boxes! It is a 1985 LHD C-series rescued from Bahrain last year. It has a Rockwell rear end, a ■■■■■■■ NTE 290 lump and a 9-speed Fuller 'box. Perfick! Robert
