Leap of faith

Hi all, my wife and i are emmigrating too Canada within the next twelve months(hopefully). I’m brit army(22 years hgv class 1), my wife is a nurse(senior), by the time we make the move my wife will also be class 1(hgv) qualified.
I have been to Alberta nine times during my army career, love the state, but which is best state to settle?
Any help app.

Don’t think theres such a thing as best? Just what best fits your needs. I think Alberta is one of the more expensive provinces, along with BC when it comes to taxes and house prices, but then the further away from Calgary and Edmonton you are, prices drop a bit I guess. Saskatchewan and Manitoba seem to be there cheapest areas to live, tax wise and property, but then they’re fairly sparse areas in comparison.

Alberta has better pay, but as the other poster said, it’s also the most expensive these days.

My advice is move to where you first find a job and then after some time you can decide where’s the best province to settle. Personally, I like Manitoba because that is where I was born and the people are cool there. I know because I’m cool.

I didn’t know you were from here. Great place. Quiet enough to draw breath and there is everything you need here. It is cheaper here and in SK to live, and there is far less attitude here than in AB or BC.

There are jobs all over, but I chose here for the houses, peace and quiet and the fact that it is right in the centre. This gives you a better chance to get around and see the whole country without committing yourself to months in the truck.
