does anybody know if these are any good? the ones that are a tenner on flea bay with the little areial.

I have one…Could never get a sound from mine. It’s in a box upstairs.
They are a bit hit and miss i believe and price doesn’t always come in to it, mine was about 50 and a mate got one for 60 and his is rubbish while mine(pure luck) is brill.
Its made by a company called, Hauppauge and the model is WinTV with 2 ariels. hope this helps.Robbo.
I also have a Hauppauge WinTV, mine’s a bit bigger than the normal dongle, but it’s also ancient.
Use a decent ariel and you’ll be fine, some don’t have ariel sockets, avoid those ones, the tiny ariels are usually bobbins.
Paid £11 for mine. I binned the little arial and bought a small arial and it was all good.
so the dongle thingy with co ax portable ariel socket for whooper areil will do?? cheers people

If you’ve had one that didn’t work previously, it’s worth giving it another go as DAB transmitters were running on 10% power until analogue was turned off
