Landed A Full Time C+E JOB!

Hey there everyone,

I’ve been busy the past week, more agency sign ups, more companies rang, and more let downs!!.. but wait for it my persistence paid off BIG TIME!!

I got a phone call last Saturday at 11pm from a company I rang not long ago about a class 1 driving job, he asked if I could drive in my car to VOLVO in Kirby Liverpool to collect the unit i’d be driving that night, I turned up signed everything and collected a 57 Plate Volvo FH 600.

inside was notes for the work I had to do, collect a trailer from seatrucks Ltd in seaforth which was fully loaded and deliver to unilever in leeds, then go to eddie stobarts in Carlisle to reload and then take the trailer back to seatrucks drop the trailer and drive the wagon back to Volvo! …

had a 4am delivery slot in leeds, done a bay park, unloaded, all done in the nick of time, I had to fill up in lymm services aswell considering it was on 17% level when I collected it :frowning: !

The company is called M I Haulage, the fella there met me on Wednesday and offered me the job I start Monday, but im on standby tonight and tomorrow ))

in the meantime I got a phone call from LFUK agency in Liverpool offering me work for BEERS TIMBER in Liverpool for Thursday 7.30am start multi-drop I accepted immediately, couldn’t believe the week of luck ive had!! I went into my current job (chef in a restaurant) and handed in my notice effective immediately due to career change and off I went.

Beers timber wasn’t too bad, half hand ball and half forklift jobbies!! building sites, customers houses, town centre shops! etc was quite an experience even cash on delivery some times, well I must of made an impression as they rang me whilst I was on my 45 min break asking me to work Friday aswell.

Thursday done 2 runs 10 drops
Friday done 3 runs 8 drops

Ill upload pictures shortly as for some reason it wont let me upload at the moment

Heres some pictures of M I Haulage then some pictures of Beers Timber

Nice one mate. Just goes to show that it does pay off.

Nice pics too

Nice one mate! :sunglasses: That’s great news, and is good for any new drivers out there who think they won’t be able to get work. Thanks for the photos as well. It’s nice to actually see the evidence! Hope it all works out well for you.

Cheers Dar and LJA?,

I’m hoping things turn out ok aswell

Thanks

No worries! You’ll be fine mate, if you just carry on the same way. :sunglasses:

That’s great. Always good to see people getting a start. Yet more evidence that newbies can get work. Well done, Pete

Nice one mate, It is great when you have been phoning, emailing and registering everywhere then you get that first chance  I felt fantastic on Thursday when I registered for the agency and then they put me straight out on a run HGV 2 62 plate Scania
