No. Nagel Group is British and grew from Langdons Bridgewater and Ferryline Forwarding.
Kuehne and Nagel were Swiss based and global players, the UK division is now part of XPO

Some of the UK operations remain with Kuehne+Nagel,The drinks, retail and media passed on to XPO,not 100% sure if K&N still have shares in these though as things don’t appear as they seem unless it’s still teething trouble from the takeover…
Nagel group are German.
What trucks do they use at KNDL Castleford? Are they still those Stralis’ and poverty spec Scania new-gens limited to 52mph in KNDL colours or do the white XPO Renaults do the work now? I keep being offered work there and they pay even more than Royal Mail for some shifts.
I read that a German company with the name Nagel was the very willing haulier of choice for a large German customer in the late 1930s and early 1940s.
Also read that they have never apologized for this and refuse to allow access to their archives of this period.
Just wondered if either or both of these names were connected

Don’t really understand why you mention this ‘fact’ tbh, most if not all German brand names today used slave Labour and involved themselves in the National Socialist cause in one way or another, that’s just how it was, unpleasant yes but think it’s really time to put it to bed. Today’s Germans are as guilty as you or I for the behavior of their grandparents and live with this shame. Just saying like. To add recently saw a STG (Society Transports Gautier) fridge here in DK co liveried with Nagel decals as if they’ve taken them over as well.

It’s true that many current companies, German and others, have history here.
A few things make this different though.
I read that there was a Jewish founder of this firm who was forced out (later died in Auschwitz) and the two remaining partners then willingly became ■■■■ party members. Went on to provide all the transport of the stolen possessions of murdered Jews throughout the Holocaust.
No coercion or plausible deniability, actively profiteered and became rich from it.
It is still owned by the same family and apparently they have never shown any guilt or shame, and refuse to acknowledge it.
I mention it as I just learned of this and was surprised at the story.
Perhaps coming from a collaborating nation, it is more preferable to put all this to bed as you say

Scania G450’s some are 52mph some 56mph,different depots had different settings for some reason, they are set up with small tanks e.t.c for weight, keg loads and tanks are on the limit usually, think they are due to go back this year at all depots so don’t know what they’ll get next,no XPO units pulling anything up to now though.

That is pretty well the history of Kuehne & Nagel as I understand, not sure about the apologies part though. The other, completely different unrelated, Nagel was pretty small at the start of the war and appears only to have grown rapidly upon restarting after the war.
And yes, many german household names have some dirty washing hidden away which maybe, or maybe not ought to stay that way, like porsche for example.
