This used to be a favourite stopping place for many drivers, the restaurant has been shut for many years, the drivers menu was very good, lentil soup, trout with ham, steaks, fish and so on.
Free shower if bought so much diesel, rest place for traffic police, great breakfast, good coffee.
The wife of the owner once had a bad car crash, the staff on the fuel pumps were always cheerfull.
If you had time off,you could around to the villages nearby along the river.
It was a shame when they shut the restaurant. You would get cash in the hand for buying their diesel, loyalty bonus on a percentage of how much you put in the tank.
It was a rare trip to Spain when I didn’t stop there for fuel, a coffee (Americano) & a bocadillio lomo.
Ross.
Pork sandwhich, very nice, they could make one up in minutes, the staff were really friendly,on weekend nights, the locals would pack the place out,and everyone was very drunk, the noise of the chatting was deafining, good showers, very hot,and a ladies of the night establishment opposite to use your bosses DKV card on expenses. He didnt mind too much,as could claim back the tax.
Was this the place on the a121 on the right heading for towards the “uphill” section , use to get nice bocadillo de bacon, cafe con leche , use to fill up and blast the radiator out so it wouldnt get to hot on the “climb”. I use to work for Offshore Transport Services until 98 .AS Taylors ( Burton upon Kneedwood) for a while then jacked continental work in , for a ■■■■■■ job in ■■■■■■ attitude UK lol.
YES that is the one, great bacon butties, nice cafe con leche,it is shut now, there is a restaurant next to it,but heard it is not too good,i only ate once there, and on the south bound there is one,but no drivers menu,a la carte prices,by the petrol station.
I used to use the hose pipe on the radiator, and give the tyres a cool down too, free windscreen wash when you got fuel.
