Know any good overnight parking spots near Bristol?

Hi everyone, I’ve not posted much but I’ve been lurking here since passing class 2 last year and class 1 in march this year. This site and the information has been, interesting, invaluable and a lot of the time had me laughing my arse off!

As per title, I’m wondering if any of you could help me find a safe, preferably free or at least cheap spot around the Bristol area for tomorrow night? Not got a precious load on board, concrete mouldings, but I don’t want my diesel tank to be drained on my first night out with this firm if I can help it

I’'ve only done a couple of nights out before in my short career, and the Bristol area’s not an area I know very well at the moment so any help would be appreciated. I’m thoroughly looking forward to it though, it will make a welcome change to the crummy multidrop work I’ve been given recently! I’m currently working for a diabolically disorganised firm in Bedford so it’ll be good to get out on a good long run far away from it all, but any work’s good work during these times.

I would say keep an eye out for me, but I’ll be driving a plain white CF towing a blue trailer… so not exacty distinguishable!

Thanks for reading

hi mate i have 2 places near bristol i use.

just off keynsham bypass theres an ind est,as you come off the roundabout to the estate theres a low bridge in front of you but take the first right go to top of hill spin round and park outside the army cadet place.theres a big co op in front of you and in the morning there will be a butty wagon…

hope this helps

Catbrain! Great. I hope someone phones me up to ask where I’m at.

Thanks very much for those suggestions, I’ll make a note and put a couple of dots on mi map.

ive parked by third avenue numerous times (BS11 9YL) in avonmouth and have never had the tank or anything else tampered with, and sometimes parked there on the weekend when it has been very quiet.

if you can park by the security hut on your right on avonmouth way as you come down from the big roundabout. it might not stop them nicking your diesel but will certainly make them think twice about it

how about portishead.its just a few miles outside.car park virtually in town centre and its free.couple of years since i last parked there.

The huge street that T-Junctions onto the Avon Truckstop. Theres a Greggs there or teh truckstop itself that has facilities. park on teh street. Ive parked there numerous times and never had any bother. Its Junction 18 N/Bound or 18a S/Bound M5. You want to park on the street where Scania etc is… Theres a big securty hut there with 24 hr FREE security that must look after the industrila estate!!

Heres the truckstops postcode:- BS11 9YP

Woops didnt see your post

Probably a bit late but for future ref:

Come off at Avonmouth and follow A4 (Bristol & Shirehampton) at the big r/about take Shirehampton exit and turn 1st left up the side of Howdens joinery, loads of parking and pubs, t-aways and shops just over the r/about in Avonmouth village

Asda (shop)Cribbs Causway
at very far end of car park behind the boulders

Not over nite though :unamused:

I got my paperwork today and the drop’s at the waste transfer station in Days road, so I figured that if I stop at Avonmouth I can zip down the A4 and A370 early in the morning and be heading out before the rush hour.

Thanks for all the suggestions lads.

Do not park aroud Days Rd! Barton Hill is a proper ■■■■ hole!

Our yard is in Portbury Dock and is fairly quiet. We’ve had diesel nicked before but now that Wincanton are opposite and 24 hrs, things have calmed down.

BS20 7XE if you need it.

Parked overnight in asda cribbs causeway last monday and never had any bother there was 4 other wagons, i asked them before parking up and they said they never have any bother overnighting in there.
