Cheers for that Andrew, they were mainly removals, i think.

Greetings. I never met the man but when we used to visit a great pal of ours, Chris Chrisp, who owned the Oliver Twist pub just down the road we could see his lorries, always clean. He had,at the time, trailers on the ■■■■ seed job. Some of the drivers might have called in there. Sad to hear that he’s dead now.R.I.P 900x20. :frowning:

If it’s of interest, there’s a few pictures from both the Ken Thomas and Mick Thomas fleets on the PETERBOROUGH HAULIERS thread.

I worked for Ken for only a short time, as i was waiting for a job to come up at Wyatt’s and told ken this when i went for a job just to fill in as i didn’t know how long i would have to wait. ken took me on anyway and never gave me any grief allowing for the fact that he knew i was only a ‘temp’. I got my fair share of everything and was treated well, in the time i was there i got to drive a Commer 2 stroke, a Guy Warrior a Bedford KM and best of all a Leyland Badger with the 2 speed axle, now that was a flyer!
When it was time for me to go i went and told him with a heavy heart as i really liked working there , he said anytime you get fed up come back if you want, i called in many times afterward when the Coronation was on the go and always got a free dinner if ken was about so my memories of him are all good - a great gent.
