That’s disturbing footage, note the spotters stood by the roadside, probably using walkie-talkies to pass on information, KBR drivers were earning thousands of dollars per week, it ain’t worth losing your life.
Yep…I had 2 mates doing it…around 2005 ish was it?
They reckoned it was not as bad as was made out, although that looks pretty hairy.
They were under armed escort by US forces, and rarely had any bother they reckoned.
I often wish I had gone with them, (maybe not if I had seen that vid btw ) but at the time I had a good job with a very good co, so did not want to leave.
Things would have been different if I was working for the crew I work for today.
@Niel46 used to post back a few years ago, very informative and interesting
We have ceremonies twice a year here in the village, remembering and lauding the selfless heroes of the Resistance doing just that to foreign invaders.
Did you see the Ryan Reynolds film called Buried, where Al Qu’ada put him in a coffin, a chilling film and he was in the wrong location when the Americans went to look for him?
It all depends on which side you’re on.The invaders can be the good guys just as they can be the bad guys.
Iraq usually being on the side of the latter.
Ironically all that to turn Iraq into China’s oil well.
Unfortunately mistakes were made in the Iraq and Afghanistan invasion with blue on blue friendly fire to kill their colleagues in error.
I think the storyline was that there was actually more than one of them near to each other and they found the other one dead, who they thought was him, found too late.
I thought it was a sicko film probably should have been banned.
