Evening all, yes I loved the fiats and the Berliet’s UGH !! Terry, that grandnipper is 21 in November, yes it was a long time ago but I do remember meeting you at Didcot. Max is fine thanks Paul, now retired and a lady of leisure. I am driving for UK Shuttle who strange to say are based in the old L&H factory. I was laid off in December but am returning later this month so still active. Not caught up with Wally yet!! Still see Matt occasionally and Martin Willis now and again. Martin lived in Mexborough for a while but returned to Reading. Didn’t like the accent!! Oh for another trip to Coatbridge and a return load of chipboard from Stirling. Paul, do you remember Denny Shembrey and the tricks he played? Seem to remember you suffered embarrassment at Donny!!!
shaw please enlighten me , i remember nearly getting lynched in donny , thanks to dave henderson, mr schembrey was always the joker ,he seemed to like tilting cabs (should have been a fitter),what do uk shuttle do ?
this is one of jwq’s old dafs which we used for truckracing on 29-30 sept 1984 at donnington we had 8 in total from the swindon depot i cant think what the reg was but will find out and let you know regaurds pigpen

i think that the only one with an air horn fitted was ORD 999R , theres a picture of it on page one , could be wrong have been known to be
This is the registration number of the DAF 2800 TAN 946S which we raced at Donnington and here is picture of it racing …

I’m on the works pc now so a i’ve still got some more pics to be put up. DO YOU REMEMBER the Swindon v Reading footy match we all had…?
terry i havnt forgot to ring you phones knackered sorting it out today,
A mate of mine works with a bloke called Steve Vaughn, sayes he used to work for Sheerness depot. Does anyone remember him? I might try to have a word with him and get him on here, dont know him from Adam myself.
hello mark i remember steve, i helped him one day on M1something had punctured his fuel tank,i think he hurt his back in a helicopter crash when he was in the forces,
Paul, afraid the old brain doesn’t connect with the alpitrans incident-any more info? I seem to remember Denny rolled a sheet over your windscreen in the wee hours, left you in the dark so to speak!! You always were a heavy sleeper, especially after a night out. Max has followed Swindon Town for the last 20 years so roman doesn’t have her support and i was always, and still am, a Wimbledon supporter but I follow AFC wimbledon and NOT Milton Keynes-UGH!!!
Yes Terry, L & H folded around 1999/2000. The lease is held by Howard Tenens who are trying to get us out. UK Shuttle are part of the pallet network and we deliver pallets in the SN/RG/GL postcode areas. Do occasional distance, even got to Glasgow once!!! Is that right about Courages pulling out? I was there for 6 years.
oh the tricks the brain plays , i will let you off that shaw it was 30 years ago the lady who owned the restaurant had a red phone box in it, and i seen to remember the same fate befalling MR BRADFORD , at the raf place nr hungerford, what a picture in his carpet slippers and dressing gown l seem to remember your involvement ■■? , denny progressed to seeing how far he could tilt the cab before driver fell out of bed as MR LACEY found out one night at crawford, whats martin doing now and who is matt on for
