Jobs for newbies! Yes actual jobs!

John Raymond are looking for drivers at Bridgend.

They actually state they want newly qualified/inexperienced drivers!

My advice is at least look into this opportunity cos in 9 years I have never seen a firm actual advertise a post specifically for newbies. Other than that I haven’t worked for them so can’t give anymore info on money/conditions etc.

Advert says - For more information please contact Robert James or Richard Payne on 01656 666800.

Good luck anyone who tries.

A well known company that’s based in Leeds but has depots throughout Northern England is recruiting new drivers.

Take a look second one down. You will probably notice the driver shortage up here in Yorkshire.

Paul

Perhaps the shortage isn’t as much a myth as stated then.

I’ve been monitoring the situation and what people say on this forum for a little while now, and have come to the opinion that there probably is a driver shortage, or the fear of one coming.

Some drivers are saying there isn’t any shortage, but can you be sure that they are not saying that to deter others coming into the industry? As the less drivers there are, the better the pay is likely to be. So maybe they are saying there isn’t a shortage to improve their own situations? Obviously you can’t really blame em IF this is the case, but you have to take everything you are told with a pinch of salt. Just as you would when some driving school broker tells you that you can earn 40K+ a year.

I used to work in IT, and remember the Millennium bug issue, where IT companies put a lot of their staff on standby fearing that when the year 2000 New Year came all the computer systems would crash (It didn’t happen). So have to wonder if this DCPC in September IS going to reveal a shortfall in drivers, or not. Whether it does or not, companies are going to look to protect themselves from a shortfall (for insurance purposes), so I’d expect to see the LGV jobs market continue to heat up for the minute.

Maybe I don’t know my arse from my elbow, or maybe I do. Just my opinion!

What stuff do they deliver, and is it class 1, 2 or both?

EDIT: just contacted them and it’s class 1, and the bulk of the goods are foodstuffs, particularly soft drinks.

Sorry completely forgot to put class 1.

See them in tesco rdc’s a hell of a lot, but no idea what they are bringing in (what brands/goods) although I have loaded in coca cola in Edmonton next to a few last week.

Knights of Old take on newbies and Widdowsons.

hey I currently work for John Raymond, They are a good company, Im only 24 and passed my class 1 in February, They have 1 Class 2 and the Rest are Class 1
