Jenrick speeding

If he is admitting that he didn’t see the speed limit notification then he is admitting to “driving without due care and attention” for which there will be further points.

I love seeing these type of twunts getting their comeuppance…Good enough for him. :smiley:
He should have got fined an extra 50 quid for being in possession of a face that looks like it has not been punched enough. :grimacing:

RING RING RING RING Is that nick freeman loophole lawyer extrodinaire…? ive got a little bit of a speeding problem can you sort it for me…?
that sounds quite expensive but dont worry i will put it on my expenses

the pic is interesting . I’m glad to see that there is a "Time since speed limit change " on the pic . That saves me a phone call to the West Midlands Traffic Branch :blush: :cry: . Anyone know if theres any leeway if a limit drops from say 50 to 40 - how long before the camera resets to the new limit ?

I wont speed for no one,no way ,no how.If you have to speed to do your job,youre not in a good place,I dont think

Ok, so what if they lowered the speed limit on an empty, fully open motorway? What if it was 20 mph? What if it was 5mph? Would you accept speeding then?

(Everyone has a price [emoji23])

I’d still slow down. More than anything just to annoy people behind me rushing about :smiling_imp:

Using simple arrithma…arthim…mathi…sums:

speed = distance / time
time = distance / speed

Assuming the temp speed limit was over a distance of 20 miles.

At 70 mph … 20/70 = 0.285 hr = 17minutes…ish
At 56 mph…20/56 = 0.357 hr = 21 minutes…ish
At 40mph…20/40 = 30 minutes. (even I didn`t need a calculator for that)

Obeying a lower (40) speed limit for 20 miles makes a 9 min delay to a truck and a 13 min delay to a car.

A ten mile road works would mean only half of that delay of course.
Five miles of works…delay of approx… 2 min for a truck, 3 min for a car.

False premise.
When you are driving (especially at night) you cannot know that the road ahead is “empty, fully open”.
You cannot see the spilt diesel fuel on the wet road.

I have felt somewhat frustrated at what appeared to be “cry wolf” signs etc.
Maybe some are there without good reason? Id be amazed if were there perfectly. But low limits are generally there for a reason, and because we see one bad example, or ten bad examples, doesnt make it logical to assume the next one is a bad one.

Theres lots of times its 40 on an empty motorway.It doesnt bother me.I just knock the cruise down to 40.Its just as boring as doing 56mph for me

I’d rather get home 40% quicker.

I can see where you got the 40% figure from, but it’s wrong:
100 miles at 40mph = 2.5 hours or 150 mins
100 miles at 56 mph = 1.8 hours or 108 mins
Difference = 42 mins, which is 28% of 150
With the risk of points/speed awareness course and all the rest of the hassle

Ok I misspoke, I would rather not take 40% longer to get home. [emoji6]

You always need to show your “workings out”, you might still have scored a few marks even though you got the wrong answer overall.

Don’t you know the Ninth Circle of your Christian Hell has a special sector for “crimes against the English language”? Better wrap up warm, it’s cold down there :laughing:
