Hi lads I’m in at James hall tomorrow 5.30 am for training none paid one day
Has anybody worked for them on here I’ve been told ongoing work are they any good to work for. Thanks… Gordon
Working for a day for nowt, that should tell you all you need to know, IMHO.
It’s store delivery work for spar , with tail lift , some hand ball and rest cages

I don’t mind going in an hour early on the first day to be shown where things are but a whole day unpaid sounds like they are taking the michael before you have even started.
If there is a genuine training need? usually it’s just a back covering exercise to try and limit their liability in the event of an accident, either way it should be paid work. Decent employers acknowledge that and put in place formal, structured and paid pre-start training.
Unbelievable.
Probably the agency will get paid looks like driver DOES NOT!

You will be told those words many times in your life, much like when SWMBO tells you she loves you.
Trust me, its very rare that you`ll find those words are true, take them with a pinch of salt, they are trying to extract money from you.
Though unlike the other posters, doing an unpaid “training/induction day” is something a lot of newbies end up doing just to get a foot in the door.
Though after a while, having found yourself having done several of em for free, and not getting any work/assignments despite your efforts and willingness , they leave a sour taste & and empty wallet, which is why the other posters & myself won`t attend sites of training FOC. A little offering from those asking you to attend (usually an agency) to cover fuel costs usually softens the blow to the wallet for the 1st few
