I can’t understand why they invest millions into the buying of these products, then completely ■■■■ it up with the logistics.
firstly, he used the wrong route.
and secondly, he left his own fingerprints on the goods.
this guy must have been at it for ages to become so complacent.
i think 18 years is a bit strong, you can get less for murder.
i thought the conservatives encouraged the entrepreneurial spirit.
I’m guessing he could be out in 10 years or less for good behaviour ? Unless 18 years was the minimum

The difference with murder is that you get ‘life’ with a tarrif, the tarrif dictates the minimum years you spend inside but the ‘life’ bit means that your on licence for the rest of your life & you could get ‘recalled’ to jail for something like taking a pee in a shop doorway some 20 years after coming out. Get caught doing something more serious & you could end up back in jail doing 7 or 8 years for something that anyone else wouldn’t even go to jail for.
Ross.

You may get less for murder, but how many victims are there in his ill getting gains.

If we was to put people in jail for longer for dealing or importing drugs, then proberley 10% or more of our population would be in jail. Drug dealers are everywhere
The jails wouldn’t cope we just don’t have the space and our taxes would go through the roof. It costs £40,000 a year to keep 1 prisoner in prison

cheaper to kill them. Yet another job for the Army?
the only good thing he did was go for the load himself and not get some other poor driver to go and get it for him as that driver would also be linked to this mess so if there is any good in this tale its that

Considerably less than the numbers who fall victim to the tobacco and alcohol industries.
I certainly disapprove of capital punishment but I sometimes wonder if there could be a case for corporal punishment (whipping). Its cheap and, I imagine, a hell of a deterrent to re-offending. It is very unfashionable and raises moral issues, but so does incarceration and financial penalties where the offenders family suffer along with the offender.

Hiya…they should make him pay board and lodgings… whats that £49 a night and £15 a day meals.
why should we keep him
To be fair the 23.5 mil is probaly the price the cargo is worth by the time its down in wraps for distribution down the pub and for the middle classes after the dinner party.
What it was worth at that level was a lot less and he was just a mug the amounts that get in the country undetected are way more than what he had.

absolute disgrace, how much will his trial and prison sentence cost the tax payer and all he pays back is that. Why oh why can’t drugs just be legalised, the idiots will kill themselves and people who use responsibly will go on as they always have.

i don’t think they had too much bother from re-offending when they had capital punishment
