If you want a big company, you could try travis Perkins. They have night riders running down to tilbury with double deckers. No idea of money, pension etc.

North Norfolk is still Norfolk, South Norfolk on the other hand is starting to get like Kent/Essex.Deffo north’s the plan, round Coltishall and up ideally, but Im not really up for heading further east much past say Fakenham living wise, commute wise no bother.
Such a shame east is being ruined, too much poxy london waste being tipped out here now [emoji20]

Posted this a while ago, mostly round the North Walsham, Aylsham area, basically where I lived before moving to South of Norwich.
Most will be pleased to find somebody willing to tramp, don’t know how much they’ll be willing to take on new drivers, but if you don’t ask. Can’t say which is good and bad for you, but I’ll list a load of firms that people I know work for none of them have an awful reputation, but none are locally known as so good you queue up to get jobs there.
J Medler, at Taverham. Locally known as red Medler, do mostly bricks, but some other flatbed stuff like timber, round wood, steel. They are advertising at the moment.
MA and HV Medler at Marsham, locally known as Green Medler, mostly curtainsider work, they are related to J Medler, but then almost every business is that area is owned by a Medler.
Then there is Saxon, mostly tankers and flatbed work, Drurys and Starlings mostly curtainsider, all round North Walsham and then loads of places with no more than 5 or 6 trucks doing a mixture of agricultural and traction work and almost everybody, no matter how big or small seems to have a couple or trucks on sugar beet over the winter.
From what I’ve been told average pay is around £10ph with slight variations of night out, meal allowances and bonuses across companies.
I wouldn’t bother with sending CV’s just try knocking on doors and take a phrase book some of the bosses are proper Norfolk speakers.
Bloody gentleman, cheers bud, roadside pints owed [emoji41][emoji41]
I’d got a few of em on me list already due to me dad being from the woods up that there yonder way [emoji38]
Medlers is a good shout, forgot about them…
Again bless ya all hugely, as always TNUK [emoji482][emoji482]

Lizard, I’ll personally strain the leaves, and cube the sugar up if preferred [emoji106]
I’ve got a monster list of prospectful companies round North Essex across to M11 corridor, right through Suffolk into North Norfolk [emoji23]
It’s the smaller firms that are hard to find, example I had a chap on Facebook comment to me on a reply to an add on there for Jack Brands…
Firm called LJ Baalham, did a search, no website for them, which is a real shame as they have some tidy tidy motors, look to be a solid family firm with pride in what their doing it seems, be a nice place to work I reckon so I’ve book marked em for 5yrs time once I’m a bit less moist…[emoji38]
But I’ve got Debach, Bactons, Merriveen, Brinoor, 3PL, PX, LPS, Transaams, Turners, Visbeen I can’t seem to find a UK door yet… But as just a tiny, tiny example of all the big players over this corner I’ve noted I hope I can achieve a move for my family, and get secure work [emoji108]
So I’m sure there’s plenty opportunities if my current new start flops and I uproot my brood…

What about trying some of the animal feed companies? You have Duffields at Saxlingham Thorpe, and BOCM Pauls (Now ForFarmers) Suffolk/Norfolk border.
Pay may not be the best though but you’ll see the countryside!
Sherwoods take on new drivers but I’d give them a swerve, from experience! Mrct are good easy / clean work nice kit in the main & money’s ok. Loads of adverts outside dock at minute for drivers so ya best bet would be to trundle on down & speak to them.

PX Farms I think Littleport area. Goldstar and Wincanton have yards at Woolpit though I think office for both is Felixstowe. Green King in BSE is DHL I think… IWJS Woolpit. Anglia Water always were looking for tanker drivers based all over. Good luck and yes the best way is just turn up and ask. Look on Indeed but knock on door , don’t just send cv.

Big Big cheers Beau, much appreciated knowledge [emoji41][emoji41]
Sadly Green King wouldn’t touch, understandable as they go to some tight spots don’t they, so they really do need experienced blokes for dray work, bit like bins, folk think it’s easy hahaha, hardest day driving job going in my opinion…
but their bookmarked for the future deffo [emoji16]
Just good to know theres plenty firms/variety about so if I move my family and rent privately I can rest abit easier for a while, get some saving going and get a mortgage finally [emoji20]
Off for Stobarts induction tomorrow, then out for a week on the road from Monday, HOPEFULLY accompanied for the whole week as they’ve promised, just so I can get my confidence up and start the actual process of life long learning that to me trucking takes.
I just don’t want to be a number is all hence I’m looking for a company with a community of drivers, ones who are prepared to share the wet wipe learning process to a noob, in exchange for truck washing/polishing or beer/■■■■■■ favours if preferred, I’m willing to repay kindness/respect by way of any manner asked of me… [emoji16][emoji38]

On the bbc news today it is saying Norwich is in the top 10 regions of lowest paid wages in the country. Gives anybody an idea of what it’s like when thinking of moving there.

Just based outside Norwich on dustcarts, £10ph but 1.5x after 8 hours bumps it up a bit. Lower wages but also would say a better standard of living here compared to some and cheaper housing if you look outside of the city and coast.
With out giving the I would not get out of bed for that fuel . That’s not bad for round here, but you know as well that there is a lot around the £9 mark. Cheers
UK Mail Norwich depot were short of drivers, was a franchise but has now been swallowed up by corporate & taken over by DHL
you would get a start there no problem.
Money not great but ■■■■ easy work
