Jack Richards - fake Indeed reviews?

indeed.co.uk/cmp/Jack-Richa … td/reviews

Is it just me or do some of these seem a little bit made up or ‘forced’?

“On the back of Jack Richards trailers it says you’re following one of the best and when I’m driving that’s definitely a statement of fact, great place to work, being general haulage it’s something new everyday, yeah you’ll go same place all week sometimes but in 6 month I’ve rarely had a job repeated in 6 days, deliver absolutely everything and anything, decent trucks, well maintained trailers, flick of the wrist and curtains fly open, strict eco driving policy using microlise technology, weekly league chart printouts to show how you’re doing in comparison to colleagues, I’m enjoying the challenge of getting to the top, come and see for yourself and try to beat me haha”

Maybe they are genuine and are a decent company now, but everyone I’ve ever spoken to about them have mostly said the opposite…

If that’s…

True, I might consider going back into curtainsider work.

Then again, with the DVSA nicking drivers for not strapping down a broom handle, I’ll stick with fridges.

I worked there for 15 years from 1998 and still think it was one of the best jobs i ever had.

Did you not enjoy gossie haulage then Eric especially that g reg merc lol

Dont remind me of that blasted Merc what a heap of rubbish.Eps box had a mind of its ownand always played up when it thought it would cause the most congestion.

Haha your right it was a pile of crap none of us wanted to drive it!

Saw an advert from these lot the other day offering a “great work/life balance”
Everyone Iv ever spoken to that’s worked there says they just don’t want you to go home ever, and want a full shift every other week on your 6th card even if you’ve been away all week.
These are another large haulier struggling to attract drivers because of how they treat them.

Thats changed a bit since i was there then now Jack is not at the helm

Part of the Turnerski empire now.

shudders

I thought it sounded genuine enough until -

strict eco driving policy using microlise technology, weekly league chart printouts to show how you’re doing in comparison to colleagues, I’m enjoying the challenge of getting to the top, come and see for yourself and try to beat me haha"

That bit sounds so fake its actually toe curling

The only bit I actually believed is this…

djt1881:
flick of the wrist and curtains fly open,

I’m thinking he’s referring to his tassled frilly cab curtains though.

We’ve got a few of those ‘ships parking brake’ prefixed with a W at our place too.

Was unfortunatly renewing my cpc and on 3 days there was a Jack Richards driver who had been with them paying for his own cpc !!

I don’t know, man. Last place I was at there was a guy he’d ask another driver where he is on the (driver score) board who didn’t really care and he’d go with him through the list acting surprised to find himself in 1st place, next day he’d be talking to another driver and do the same - it was so cringey. Another was arguing with TM about his score saying it can’t be right, I never go below 90% this truck needs looking at.

I worked for Jack Richards for a while not that long ago and mostly it was a bloody good job.

Trucks were good, pretty new, clean and well maintained, and I can confirm, the curtains on their trailers do slide really easily. I loved the gear.

I used to deliver a lot of cut timber all over East Anglia, which I really enjoyed because it all needed well strapping and technically I enjoyed the challenge.

But I did Smurfitt’s cardboard as well which was also pretty good as long as you didn’t have to go into the Norwich plant to load. The forkies were a bunch of ■■■■■ and the H&S ■■■■■■■■ was off the dial. Normally, you’d just drop and swap in Smurfitts depot on the Norwich ring road.

I quite liked the microlise gizmos but the results were used to calculate your fuel bonus and unless you were in the top five drivers, it wasn’t really worth having, as well as the fact that pulling weight around the back roads of Norfolk and Suffolk obviously didn’t get the same results as tugging four tons of cardboard up the motorway to Scotland. It was the trunkers who made the money.

The downside? Who wrote they don’t want you to go home? I was doing more 15 hour days than was healthy and I hate sleeping in ■■■■ soaked lay-bys. They pushed that too far one Friday night and I ran out of time. I’d told them I had to get home and the attitude when I said I needed picking up was, “Tough, we haven’t got anyone to come out and get you. Just park up and we’ll send someone sometime tonight…” Yeah, right!

So if you love living your entire life in a truck, it’s a good place to do it. Or was. I doubt it’s changed much since Turners took over.

i never read or go off online reviews for anything.
there not reliable. and people are quick to post negative bad reviews. yet not so quick to post good ones.
i just ignore them. and go off common sense. never really let me down yet
