Delivered to Morrisons Wakefield this morning, and spoke to a driver who had parked outside overnight. He had turned onto estate drove up to roundabout (where you turn right for ambient deliveries)and turned left towards YPO to park up. When he got up this morning to deliver he found 3 rather large cuts in his curtains. 4 other trucks had also been cut. If you park on there you are best to park on road as you drive towards the gate, opposite Polestar as there staff stand out for cig breaks and the police also pass as they go back to station.
Why on earth would anyone with an ounce of commonsense park up on an industrial estate, loaded close to a RDC without any security? I mean its pretty obvious that the goods you are carrying are for the RDC if you’re parked close by. Call me stupid or do people not make their own problems by doing this?
Tight fisted operators. A firm i worked for would,nt pay parking. Always loaded with food n stuff. One time parked with 26 plts of blue wicked. Still would.nt pay. I reckon its there own fault if they get robbed

Where else are you going to park. Stockyard? Woodhall, Woolley Edge or Hartshead Moor, Ferrybridge or in a lay by near Ossett?

Would you pay for parking 4 nights a week then■■?
I will not pay for parking nowadays unless its an absolute last resort… I do 4 nights out a week, and if you pay an average of £12 a time to park, thats £48 a week. Although i do get it back in my wages the following week, i cannot afford to loan my company money for a week to 10 days. So outside the customers premises or into another one of our depots it is for me…
why didn’t the load get tipped before going to bed?

My point precisely, and it costs money to repair the curtains too, mange tout, mange tout
I have parked there several times, the benefit of it being 24 hours helps as there is always someone around as mentioned. ■■■ Breaks, police and Stapletons trunker

Really Alex?
Wakefield 41 has always for as long as i can remember, had a reputation for Diesel Nickers/Curtain Slashers on the bit of road by Foxes Buscuits.
someone once told me you could park in wakefield town in one of the pay and display car parks,is this true■■?

I believe it is, when i was working for Rangemaster, quite a few of the blokes used to park in Wakefield town and go clubbing… Was about 7 years ago now tho, so it may have changed
You can also get into Ponte if you are early enough. just not sure if you will make your 6am booking though
You can get down near Maccies in Wakefield and nip off into town for a swift half
Even though the coppers reside on J41 it is crime central, mebbe worth nipping down to the next roundabout and going behind Ballantynes near G4S
