Anyhoo,.I also pulled trailers for Frozen Fare/Watts from time to time in the 80s.

Thanks for the pic Robroy. I drove for Frozen Fare when they were in Wetherby but never thought to take any snaps.

Hi that 141 Scania brought back memories, we bought two Watt’s 141’s from Malcomb Harrison as he handled the fleet disposal when they shut down, one was ARM $$$T the other was BHH $$$T, did not go there with intensions to buy we were on our way back from Wales after trying to buy an allocation of French permits and just called in, it was an impulse purchase as you do, Buzzer

As far as I remember anything that was not ERF or Seddon Atk were owner drivers.

I think they did a scheme selling some of their drivers their trucks with guaranteed work.
Watts was a good firm, I can not see them ripping their lads off…as many other firms in similar schemes did.
The DAFs and Scanias were replacements after getting a few months work and money under their belts.

That ARM 141 used to accelerate up Lances Hill out of Southampton fully freighted, never checked what it did to the gallon, derv was cheap back then, Buzzer
