As far as we were concerned Chris,Caberboard only went a Bewick motor as a last resort!! (zb) traffic (zb) rate!!! Dennis.
Same on a Bowker motor!! I do remember unloading some of yours in Blackburn one Christmas - rather heavier than the stacker truck was designed for, so I was performing a bit of a balancing act…
Aye typical east Lancs outfit, equipment not up to the job!!! Dennis.
Further to these comments, there was a post put on back on the 5th. Feb following our missing article in “The Mail on Saturday”. As earlier mentioned, no comment was the stern reply! So it’s good to see some comments now. Thanks for rekindling the interest, Dennis. We have had many ex employees respond and a reunion has been arranged for late June. It’s a shame that we don’t get more info. on the company but time is moving on for us all. Nice blow up off the “Highwayman”, wish I could identify the driver. Are the landing wheels up/down, or is that how we dropped them? Sheeting was a speciality of J & H drivers, everything had to be sheeted! Doug.

Which depot did you run out of Doug? Cheers Dennis.
Dennis. I worked at Deptford as routing manager. When I finished I was running the trunk operation! By the way, big mistake, the Scammells where “Handyman”! Hope to post more comments after re-union. Cheers Doug.
