he has some photos of the iveco i will try and get a couple scanned, he drives for ABS now still on the same job running out of the steelworks at rotherham.
We had 6 Turbo Stars, 2 , 4x2 360s 3, 6x2 rear lift 360s and a 4x2 480.They did mainly Italy every week the engines were bullet proof but the cabs were tinny everything dropping in bits,i found them cramped. The 360s were great pullers the 480 was awesome especially in 1990.4 of them had the 13 speed fuller and the 2 4x2 360
s had twin splitters (never a fan of them)

Turbostars are one of favourite lorries,i was at the dumfries truck n bus show this year and there was a 48 there factory 6x2,or 4 wheeler with add on whatever way y wanna look at it,loads still workin in Italy and in excellent condition, would love one myself,I
used to work on a couple of 190.36’s,6 cylinder with 13 speeds in em,lovely simple motor, nice cab but the rot,one e reg an a g reg, both rotted out and we redone them both, the g reg was only 3 year old then.
Back in the late 90’s i used to see E.M Rogers motors with them on the back on the Zebe boat from dover, they were always well rotton etc, possibly goin for refurb then to the blackman perhaps.
i own the v8 turbostar in question that was at dumfries truck show also have v8 eurostar as well.the iveco v8 sounds absolutely tremendous and much better tone than any v8 scania ive heard.they go like stink as well the eurostar will do well over 80mph as ive tried(only on a test track mmmmmmm).the turbostar in question is a 6x2 was converted from new by granning and was used on low loader work at 65 ton by hm plant.but a great truck and great sounds

got a pic of an italian drawbar one i took in london gateway last year will post it up later
i had a sed ak with a320 roller in it wich was pepped up doin italy (prato) in the early 80s id stopped at the log cabbin in santhia
and had just got goin doin 60 mph and was passed like i was stood still by a turbostar with the biggest lump of marble id seen up to that point i put toe down gave chase ish on the flat it was ok but hills no chance i stopped at the services on the spiders web (genoa) for a breather and it was there and it looked the part
but lets be honest what truck dosent fall apart in this country from that era in my opinion they were just as good as the swede
just wernt round long enough and another thing they were for a while the most powerfull truck and the one the euro lads wanted tempo international had them in l,h,d and ther drivers didnt complain they were the first i remember goin out ther to get them
good trucks and a good thred
