IVECO Daily 70C17 7.2 Tonne & 7.5 Tonne signs

Evening all, my boss is investing in an iveco daily with a (GVW) 7.2 tonne which will be a curtainsider and sleeping pod on top of the cab , this will mainly doing multi drop around ■■■■■■■ and Scotland. “the van is still being built so the GVW might change”

Now my question is this, can the above mentioned vehicle use the 7.5 tonne restricted roads ■■? and does it have to stick to the 40mph speed on limit on single carriage ways in Scotland ■■ As its over 3.5t its classed as LGV so am assuming it will governed by those laws??

I have been searching the forums and online for a bit of clarification on using a lgv like this but not found much.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks Chris

It will probably look like this MAYBE

Yes and yes. Next!

What clarification do you need? It has a GVW of 7.2 tonnes so it is subject to the rules for vehicles with a GVW of over 3.5 tonnes. It has a GVW of 7.2 tonnes so it is not subject to the rules for vehicles with a GVW of over 7.5 tonnes.

Thanks Joe think i am getting the jist of this , so if i we drive this in Scotland on single carriage ways we can do 50mph  that was my main concern and use all the 7.5t weight retricted roads without fear of prosecution.

We have always done ■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■ in 3.5t vans over a couple of days and had to stay in B&B’s evening meal couple of pints and breakfast paid for by company but i guess the expense was getting to much so this will now be done in the 7.2 t iveco sleeper.

Thanks Chris

Hopefully nightline i will not be using it very often as an other driver has said he wants do to it and he is over 6ft he can have it :smiling_imp: i will just do it when he is on his holidays.
