It was all going so well

I was involved in a rear shunt few years ago, driving a bus, car pulled in in front of me, I rammed it, (Came back as a non fault for me, CCTV was working), kids in the back of the car, one of the first things the b1tch says to me when she got out was “I’ve got my ducking kids in the car, you b45tard!!!”. I have a estate car, in which my beloved wee dog sits in the boot, when he is in the car I drive extremely carefully. How can people like this go out every day and drive like maniacs with the most precious things in the world (family) in the car?

cheers fellas just called into the local police station , he took my details (couldnt give hers as i didnt get a chance to take any) bloke on the desk said it sounds like she probably wasnt insured and not to worry about it, trouble is as an O/D its me who pays the insurance premiums

Well, for future reference, you were stopped where she hit you, she was stopped. When you told her that you’ll pull down the road to exchange details, a quick snap of the actual situation on your mobile would have saved a hell of a lot of agro.

Exactly that. I’m a believer in moving out the way asap but will always take a picture before I do so. Although this kraken may have turned violent at that point!

i.ve rang my insurance and put them in the picture as well, they said i have done everything i possibly could , in a way i.m hoping she wasnt insured as that way she cant take it any further

She has still Failed To Stop even if she does subsequently report it to Police.

The requirement is that drivers involved stop at the scene AND give their details (and their vehicle details) to anyone having grounds to require them. This requirement is under S170(2) Road Traffic Act 1988.

The requirement to report to police applies if for whatever reason the above was not complied with (e.g. the other vehicle was unattended, did not stop or buggered off before you could exchange particulars). This is covered under S170(3) of the same Act.

S170(4) makes it an offence to fail to comply with EITHER of the above.

And her answer would be Big bad Lorry driver threw abuse at her and frightened her and the kids :unamused: I’ve seen it happen and the guy would have been done if he hadn’t had my details and that I indicated to plod that there was a camera on the side of the garage opposite.

I know someone who got 9 points because the person who crashed into them, and drove away later reported to the police that the trucker rather than them had left the scene of an accident… Because she’s got your number, and you have not got hers, you’re vulnerable. Report to the police station, and leave them with a statement. That business card might well be the best thing that’s happened to you this year.

100% agree. A witness statement is your golden ticket.

Not surprised…I had a woman in Tariff Road Tottenham who threatened to shoot me, she had two kids in the back of her car.
I asked her to do it, as I had a few more drops and as it was Friday I may as well finish early

She was serious though…I just laughed.
