What’s wrong with that? I’m earning that at the mo on Class 2 lol…
Yes but this is in Gillingham the way it is written on the side it looks like there are plenty of driving jobs around it also look like they are operating from a layby
Without trolling through the annals of legislation I think leaving the truck unattended overnight does not, necessarily, commit an offence. There may be local by-laws in place to prevent this activity of course. I have seen trailers, tug units and all sorts parked up in lay-bys on the A30 and A38 down here, all unlit and unattended, with no interest from plod or local authority.
There may be a maximum amount of time a vehicle can be left unattended in a lay-by, say 7 or 14 days, before legal action (if any) can be imposed, but if the company move their vehicles on a regular basis then this may be a way of getting around any legalilties…if there are any!
From a company advertising point of view, seems like a good idea!
skids:
In short… No he cannot operate from a layby.
Training Schools don’t come under the O license regime so he doesn’t need a specified operating centre.
I’ve had a look through and cannot see any exemptions for training schools. Maybe I’m wrong but I can’t see anything in the book.
You will not find an exemption because they are not in the book in the first place !!
The only place you will find anything which prevents them doing this with a private LGV will be in the Road Traffic Act and that will be referring to the actual act of parking it there
There could also be a provision in the local council to prevent it being parked there
If there is no barrier between the layby and the road then it must have lights on

I did my cat C with these. Got me through my test ok
of course £500 is an achiveable wage he is saying earn not take home look at the wording if you do 10 x 50 = 500 … agencies pay ok … the one I was on I was getting £12 ph £ 14 after 8 hours then 16 after 10 … sats was 14 ph and sundays was 16 per hour so do 20 hours over weekend that is 300 then 20 during week for a 40 week 544 before stoppages
so it is not to good to be true and that was a real wage working out of TK Maxx Hatfield via agency
