Heres the plan, I’ll call them when I leave my first drop, its 2 of 2. See what the crack is with them, they may been located elsewhere and the address I haveis the main office. If not, I’ll drive down and have a bash. If I can’t make it then I’ll phone the office and let them deal with it. We used to get this all the time at my last job. Doing flooring into Central London, more often than not you couldn’t make the delivery because they were sending it in unsuitable vehicles leaving me to drive around aimlessly while the office argued with each other.
Good idea to call them first, like I said the main road is always busy especially from 15.00 .
You are the professional. If you don’t think that its safe, don’t do it.
Call yerself a driver?
We’ve had bigger than th…
You could get a bus through th…
After the event
I thought you were being a bit optomistic
You should have used a smaller wagon
Why didn’t you call for help?

Used to get sent to some tight places when I was delivering to building sites, but also been sent to a few places where I’ve struggled and sweated to get the truck only to be told either it’s the invoicing address and I’ve driven passed the ■■■■ easy to get into delivery address or they only accept deliveries on smaller vehicles.
If you’re still expected to deliver there have a walk and look at it first see if it looks like artics have been there before and ask the goods in staff, they might be used to dealing with artics and cone the road off when they expect deliveries and watch you in, but of course they could also be a bunch of muppets who haven’t got a clue and will let you get right stuck.
I like to help make tipping easy and show off my mad skillz getting into tight drops but with this one there’s too much downside I wouldn’t open the door to getting down by even trying and back in off the main road to start with. If you haven’t got a tail-lift they’re going to need a forklift and if they’ve got a forklift and they want the load it’s no biggie to run up their access road and get it.
Too much downside if you get it in without catching a car or a garden wall there’s the risk someone’s parked in the way whilst you’re down there. If anyone in the office says another driver got down there just say there was a car in the way.
bald bloke:
What happened in the end ? Is he still there trying to reverse in ? The suspense is killing me .
I’m wondering if he’s added to his wing mirror collection.
I think I might have heard a quick side reference along the lines of demolished house or houses and a severely damaged car or two involving a juggernaut entering or was it leaving a site in the Bristol area,on the national news.Maybe check I player.
Does it get on anyone elses goat when some one asks things like this then doesnt come back to tell you how they got on? Its very annoying
Unless he did “give it a bash” and hes still stuck down there obviously

Been given this as my final drop on Monday.
Its down this tiny street and I’m sure as hell not going to make that turn…
I’m not one to turn jobs down but this seems somewhat ambitious for a full size tri-axle trailer. My only guess is to try and reverse off the road and block the road for a bit while they tip it.
Maybe you just have to ask nicely.
Hey Radar my well endowed virtual friend, how did you get on with this job.
