Is this possible in an artic?

I would think twice taking my truck in there as it’s a 26t with a 30ft body and as said one wrongly parked car and you’re Zb Swany

About 30 years ago we used to back in the entrance on the left where the two girls are with a 40 ft step frame curtain sider at around 2am every night of the week, the entrance was about a foot wider than the lorry, obviously the fancy ironwork over the the entrance wasn’t there, and neither was the lamp post opposite, how one of us didn’t take either of the buildings out i shall never know.

You’ll do fine Radar.

i can see you getting in but not getting out.

Ah , that explains why you looked stressed out when I saw you on a15 on thurs afternoon

You are supposed to be a “driver”
the clue is in the job title.
Get on with it

Postman pat made it

Nope. They’ll have to tip you from the road - which I would back into. If the question is 'can I collect someone’s garden wall on my trailer under-run bar then, yep, the answer’s doable.

It’s the fisheye lens on the camera car that’s seriously misleading have a look from the other direction.

Mind you ‘he who dares, Rodders’

I would do as Juddian suggested, google their phone number and ask them if they have artics in there, and if so, what is the best way in.

Another plus side to ringing them is if you do get stuck you can at least shift part of the blame

You can’t necessarily follow the same track in reverse.

I would phrase it ‘how do other artic drivers normally approach it’ and not be swayed too much by what they say. It’s like the farms that’ll say we have artics in but it will be the milk tanker not a triaxle curtainsider. Treat any info from them with caution.

ask other drivers from your company if they have ever done it in a full sizer?

if in doubt, park up round corner and go for a little walk round and access it and see if your happy to attempt it, maybe even get some one out from where you are delivering too as an extra air of eyes.

good luck with it

What would worry me looking at that picture is that there are no tyre marks on the road,if Artics are regularly in and out there would be tyre marks from screwing it round to get in/out.

Massive +1
In my experience you will always find skid marks near a tight entrance.

As mentioned call the company especially as its your final drop and they might tell you to reverse down from Southmead rd for a kerbside tip, or more likely, “WTF we always have our stuff delivered by little trucks”…

I know the road it can only be done if there’s no cars there and there’s going to be so I’d suggest you park up on the main road which will be difficult enough and go and see them or tell your boss you can’t do it, can you not deliver it through the BAWA club entrance ?
Southmead Rd is a very busy road .

Edit: forget what I said about BAWA club entrance it’s seperate .

Not if another car arrives and parks in the wrong place ( while your unloading ) you won’t!

There’s bollards at the end of falstead road so you can only go in one way, and if you can’t get in the yard to turn round (which it doesn’t look like you can turn round in there) or if you can’t reverse in then you’ll be backing out the way you came in. I’d check before you commit that they have artics there normally. Might be that they don’t. Or park as close as you can and walk round to have a look.

I’d be looking at maybe reversing up off the main road and getting them tip you at that entrance. Because if you drive up and you can’t get in then you’ll be reversing back out into the main road. At least if you reverse up and it turns out you can go in there’s a big roundabout close by to go and spin round on. Best way would be to find out before committing to turn up or reverse though!

Or even more likely than that they will be like “yeah yeah yeah we have artics here all the time”, then when you turn up they will be like “oh! I didn’t realise you meant it was one that big drive”

Heres the plan, I’ll call them when I leave my first drop, its 2 of 2. See what the crack is with them, they may been located elsewhere and the address I haveis the main office. If not, I’ll drive down and have a bash. If I can’t make it then I’ll phone the office and let them deal with it. We used to get this all the time at my last job. Doing flooring into Central London, more often than not you couldn’t make the delivery because they were sending it in unsuitable vehicles leaving me to drive around aimlessly while the office argued with each other.

I wouldn’t drive down that road without being sure though! Otherwise you’ll find yourself reversing out onto a busy road which is never a good idea

all you can do is…give it a try.
