POA has always been the saviour to keep the working hours down and still get the pay up but I heard its recently been changed and can no longer be used as free time basically. If so it will screw many of us, anyone know the story? Cheers
I don’t think it’s ever been classed as free time. You can do what you want with it as long as you’re not working though.
If you’re asking as your boss has said you should be polishing the wagon while you’re waiting then this is actually work and not POA
there is NO change in the status of poa, for that to happen it would require a European union parliament change in the regulations to the directive and there is nothing listed for that to happen. so I think you have been given duff information
