I have just completed my 35 hours training and now have my CPC card. On the tacho hours module my instuctor told me it was illegal for a company to pay their drivers for their tacho breaks. Our company pay our drivers for an 8 hour day, should it now be paying us for 8 hours less 45 minutes for our tacho breaks. Can anyone clarify this for me?
If you heard it in a CPC course - it’s ■■■■■■■■! Of course it’s legal to pay for breaks - what happens if you are salaried? Or paid on bonus instead of hourly pay? Or you have a nice boss who wants to pay you as much as he can? I admit, the last one’s not very likely…

Another load of nonsense from a DCPC trainer
The company can legally pay you for all breaks.
To be honest a company can pay you whatever they want … next time you see him ask for that piece of regulation and if he cant ask him to put it in writing with his official training No on it …
