Pete,if you remember the Menai Bridge, then surely you remember this place?
First pic is Holyhead bound, where you were straight on the approach to and out of the castle walls.
Second is London bound, where you had to do a sharp turn right to be straight to enter the castle.
Whiplash,
That is Conwy before the new tunnel under the Estuary, could take you at least an hour to get through there, I would use the A5 all the way up from the Midlands in the holiday season, the better of 2 evils!
Peggy d b ,yes indeed I do remember Patrick.A good man, very well spoken.Didn`t need lorries to have his spending money.Quite a wealthy man.Last time I heard of Patrick he was on for Walsh Western,or whatever they have morphed into now!
Once again, top of the class Pete!

Hi Whiplash
Late 1960s early 70s I worked for Williames Transport Group head office was at Sinclair House Royal Avenue Belfast. our depot was at Trafford Park Manchester. We used to cross over the channel via Stranrae to Larne depot at Aldergrove. Fishguard Rosslaire for depots at Naas Road Dublin, Shannon ind est on Clare Road next door to LEPS. Many times Travelled Swansea to depot at Cork with long loads trombone trailers. By any chance do you remember Williames or better still have any photos? early 1970s when the tree day week was on one of our drivers George Hamilton got killed at Stranrae dock. Williames also had container traffic based on Preston Docks and Airfreight. Wish I had taken photos. I left and worked for MAT transport.
My family Morrow are from Killishandra Cavan but we lived near the Leitrim border at Killegar House estate since 1845. My mothers side Kiernans are from Drumshanbo, Rosscommon and Longford areas.
