the Mrs has bought a second hand Iphone 3GS as it was second hand it had all apps and junk on it so I got it on Itunes and reset it back to factory settings.
Now when I start it up and go through the initial setup I can’t get past the activation. I’ve been reading up on it but can’t find anything to tell me what to do. Any one know how I can activate it and she can use it with her old sim?
She thinks the guy who had it before used Vodaphone but she isn’t 100% on that.
Try reconnecting it to iTunes, when I got my iPhone I had to connect to iTunes for the initial set up, then it worked ok, my 2 iPhone are unlocked, I did that in iTunes aswell,
I got her to ring the bloke she bought it from, He said he was using it on 02 and had it unlocked.
I’ve restored via a recovery mode boot connected to Itunes. Do I need to ring her service provider (orange) and get them to link her sim and phone or anything?
I’ve tried activating in recovery, connected to Itunes and just through a wifi connection. Nothing works
Sorry I completely forgot about this thread. We had a nice surprise when we phoned Apple about this.
The supervisor we spoke to said they’ve heard of a couple of cases like this recently. Even though we told her the phone was bought second hand they are replacing it with a NEW like for like. So she’s getting a new shiny 3gs from apple.
The phone’s warranty was out by 5 days but she said they’ll replace it still
