Internet Security For Tablet?

Hi all, I’ve recently purchased a Google Nexus 7 7" tablet.

Is it worth while installing some kind of internet security software? Preferably free! I was looking at the Avast! software but don’t know if its really worth bothering in the first place?

Can any computer boffins elaborate?

AVG antivirus free is good. Available in the google play store, download it, activate it and it will then scan every download for viruses.
