£400 a week? They can only be offering a 4 on 3 off rota at that…

£400 per week ■■? I can earn that in a day !!

I’m absolutely sure that at no point the following will take place…

Yeah mate, here’s your van, off you go…

Oh, this week can you cover the artic as we are a bit short staffed…

Just one week more mate…

Yeah, promise you’ll be back in the van at the end of next week mate…

£400 a week…

If not then why advertise for a van driver who needs a class 1?

Wouldn’t mind doing it tbh. The only issue is the crazy low wage and as its a van driving position I’d presume they would want you to do more then 8/10 hours a day. :unamused:

Van Driver job with Eddington Euro Logistics | 7834263

Is this the same job/advert as the o.p. alludes too? Only Melksham is a bit different from Taunton. And no mention of Class one.

Sorry, yes, got mixed up with Toby’s original post. Still stand by what I say though, it doesn’t add up. If it was 7.5t then how do you work out £400 a week over the water yet on regs?

Advert should read slave required. Maxed daily hours and some could see the rate being as little as £5ph. Needs boycotting…

There will be a queue of mugs to do this job and nothing surer they will be sleeping across two seats every night
What I do is go on the web site and ■■■■ them out of it for having the balls to advertise something like that and I do it in my own name and I would call them ■■■■■■■
But that’s just me and it gives me great satisfaction that at least I voiced my opinion
That’s the difference I won’t and don’t put up with ■■■■ life is to short
But the majority overrule me and that’s the mugs

No you don’t, stop telling lies.

A.

I went to see them for the same job , many years ago.
I remember him saying , you have to be clearing the border in Switzerland on such a time , to meet a deadline with the customer in Swiss.
I can’t remember exactly, but I didn’t take the job due to being expected to be in Swiss in one days driving.
No time to eat a proper meal, garage food all the way.
Let’s say you get off the ferry at one am in Calais, can you make the Swiss border before they shut ?
Your driving habits and schedule would make Lewis Hamilton look like Miss Daisy.

Going to contact them just for some spleen venting shennaniganry

Toby, in a van your not controlled by a tacho, so yes you can make swiss in a day, most euro van drivers work far too many hours for my liking, way above a hgv with tacho regs, and they get away with it.

I worked there once. Crap vehicles crap 2 old codgers that ran the place. They were subsidised by a money man who eventually pulled out, and these 2 old knobs had the scraps of what remained. I was constantly monitored on the tracker, asking why I’d stopped anywhere. I wasn’t on £400 per week I was on £600 'cos I came in from elsewhere.

I drove a 7.5t curtainsider as my van was “In repair.” I never saw it in the 2 weeks, yes 2 weeks I stayed there. I had to threaten them with legal action after they tried screwing me for my money.
Avoid these two ■■■■ heads like the plague!

They are still looking, same advert again in this weeks Wiltshire Times, Vern is right, the directors were born in the second world war.
