Interior lights

wing-nut:
Just a question which is nothing to do with trucks at all. When flying and on landing approach at night, why do they dim the interior lights?, the pilots are up front tucked away in the cockpit so I can’t see it makes any difference to them.

They make you open the blinds to accustomise your eyes to the outside so in an emergency evacuation you’re not stood blocking the top of the slide blinded by the sun or struggling to see in the dark.
They also dim the lights as this makes the emergency lighting/strips easier to see should something go wrong.
