In or Out- the EU referendum mega thread

So - Boris or Gove for the leadership?
Got to admit that I was quite taken by Gove when he took part in some of the debates. Always been a fan of Boris though.

[Edit] Just to add that Osbourne should also go with him. He’s not done a bad job as chancellor but listening to an interview he did where he was questioned on what his plan was for dealing with a Brexit he replied that there wasn’t one. That’s just inexcusable for such a vital job. Just because of your belief doesn’t mean you shouldn’t plan for every eventuality.

Personally I think he should have stayed because it’s one less bit of turmoil when the country needs some continuity and I fancy some of the other candidates even less.

True he was voted in by the people and should of not told them how to vote but followed there wishes.

But anyway this goverment or another will be make rules and first listen big people, rich people and make rulles what good for business ,but not just for people.

I thought the same - his announcement certainly won’t help the markets.
At the same time, there’s no uncertainty or speculation about what he might/might not do which might have a more stabilising effect.
Either way, the battle to be his successor will be interesting.

I reckon Chris Grayling, and I’d say Gove will be chancellor

Well Cameron has resigned shown his true character and resigned instead of having the decency to see through the democratic process

He had no choice

Have we? do tell us whats changed

Cameron resigns! New PM by October. Osborne has to go . . . and a few others with him.

Today just gets better and better

Would you rule out a return for IDS? I don’t feel he ever got a proper shot at it first time round but I’m a youngster so may not have the best memory.

That was the point. Despite the forecasts of remain, nothing has happened. There is now a time frame in place to see fundamental change though

He’s looking like the most likely candidate by far. Gets my vote. Exciting times in politics for a change, and an oppertunity for England and Wales to prosper. Scotland almost definitely will have another refferendum and leave now

He had to go - and quite a lot more need to join him . . . starting with Gorgeous George!

I don’t think he’d want it, but I wouldn’t rule out a shot at home sec. I’d say Grayling as Pm, Theresa May as dep, Gove as chancellor, IDS as home sec and Boris as Foreign sec

What a surprise, Mark Karsey pretty much saying things will be ok. So glad we didn’t fall for the lies

Not the outcome for which I hoped but at least it is a clear mandate and removes uncertainty. Let’s hope it is the right decision and we can move forward united. it will all take time but I wonder what specific haulage aspects will be changed.

The Tory party rules and regs on this are that Conservative MP’s choose two contenders which the membership then vote on. This way you don’t necessarily get the obvious choice.

The value of the pound for a start. If anyone was under the impression you’d wake up today after an Exit vote and all of a sudden you’re passport won’t allow you into France then you’re pretty silly. Apart from the money markets (and Daves almost surprise resignation) the years of European membership will need to be unpicked and have alternatives put in place. This will take years not hours, days or weeks.

Boris as PM and Trump as President. I believe that’s 2 of the 4 horseman in place.

I’m all for it, interesting times ahead. YOLO…

Night-and-day:

Would love to see Sturgeons reaction if Boris get No.10
