Impressive piece of kit

Pics don’t show the real size of the thing… it was huge!

We’ve had bigger in here drive!!

Ive delivered to plenty of pump jobs in the past when working for my dad on his mixer, but never seen one as big as that before!

I see you operate for the rivals…Bardon

I do relief driving for O/D’s so I drive for anyone prepared to pay my exorbitant wages  (preferably No digi tachos lol)

I spoke to the driver briefly & the 2 front, 1st middle & rear axle all steer so it’s not as bad as it looks… he did say it was a nightmare on narrow country lanes

evrey time theres a size issue you ve all had bigger one s

im sure that was the one that was being trialed at heywood distribution about 6 months ago, they were trialing the thing in the truck park and yes it was big.
i watched it on and off for 3 hrs and you wouldnt believe how the stages flexed when they were being extended and retracted

My tippers coming with one of them in it, I hate them, im sure ill get used to it :unamused:

In this area non of the mixer operators can get any experianced relief mixer drivers so they have to park them up when on holiday.
The ones that are avalible either dont have enough experiance or non at all, even harder if your running out of a dry batch plant as you need quite lot of experiance for that.

Best thing about mixers is that no day is the same when on site, and usually the driving is quite a challenge as you need the load right to where they want it. Ive delivered to Farms and on many occasions ive had to reverse into tight barns with only inches to spare. goiing up country lanes with hedge rows scraping each side of the mixer or worse going up country lanes with dry stone walls narrowly missing the cab. Good fun on the mixers i miss it, cant wait to get my own. only thing is that you can be sitting around on site for ages, which is a pain in the arse as the load could set lol

Where abouts are you based?

Have you had to do the Epic training yet? which is a complete waste of time

I think thats the same in most areas. Drivers who like mixer work are probably already employed, those who have tried it & don’t won’t consider it. It’s one of those jobs you either love or hate. I would hate to be tramping all week but loads love it, horses for courses.

Yep, it can be a challenge but then I watched a guy yesterday with a 40 foot trailer loaded with bricks reverse onto a site that I wouldn’t have taken my car into without a good look… he did it with just 2 shunts! I couldn’t help but give him a round of applause, I thought there was no way he would get close… top bit of driving. As for farmers, they expect you to get a mixer where you couldn’t get an ■■■■■■ van & then moan because the the truck is to wide/high to fit in the barn! Plus… they are probably the tightest people on the planet, I’ve driven round a farm for 30 mins with about 2 barrow loads of concrete left waiting for the farmer to find somewhere “to use it” rather than just dump it. We’re talking around £10 of concrete here

I cover derbyshire/staffs/cheshire, within reason & yes I did the epic crap

Epic is pointless …and a test at the end…lol what a joke
all the drivers i have spoke to think its waste of time!

Last pump job i went on was at 2am delivering to the railway at Shap.
and before that did a pump job on Barrow in Furness new bypass road
