Hi Everyone,
Trying to get work in/immigrate to Canada. Would really appreciate any input from Those Who Have Gone Before Me as to whether I should use one of these for hire immigration agents who claim to set everything up (job, LMO, visas etc) or just go it alone applying for jobs, interviewing etc…I’ve met with an agent called Colin R. Singer and they are filling positions for Valley Roads (who I see mentioned in another thread) Just trying to decide if I should part with my hard earned cash…
would appreciate any input…

The answer to that is in my opinion go it alone.
I live in the USA and not Canada but I was told by the INS officer at my hearing that immigration agencies are a total rip off, if you have nothing to hide it’s far easier and cheaper to do it alone. When you think how much harder it is to get into the USA than Canada it stands to reason really.
Go at it alone. The company that you would work for is responsible for supplying you with all the correct paperwork. If you are are able to count up to 10 without the use of your fingers you’ll be able to handle everything to get to Canada and to apply for permanent residency yourself
Go it alone. You’d only be paying the agent a fortune for something the company you go to work for would do any way, and a little bit of leg work yourself. Getting a driving job in Canada is easy, even if you’ve just stepped foot off the plane. While I’m in no way suggesting you come to New Brunswick, if you were to do so, I’m confident that after a mornings leg work going from door to door around our local illustrious companies, out of 10 queries, I’d be surprised if you didn’t have 8 job offers and some of them if you took them up on employment would just give you a spare truck to go and do your test in, saving you a lot of money on paying a local driving school. European drivers who have experience from home don’t have to do all the long winded nonsense that Canadian new starters do so apart from the written tests and the air brake b/s all you have to do is turn up in a truck and pass a very easy driving test and you’re sorted. Either way there is absolutely no reason to involve an expensive third party in all this, unless you’ve had recent success at the pools or national lottery and feel like chucking some money away for the hell of it.
My opinion(for what its worth) is go it alone and more importanly do your research
