Nothing wrong with Gilders at Teddington, wooden chalet shower block, in the pub opposite the truckstop, on Tuesday nights from 18.00 to 21.00, any size steak is half price , I had the 28oz T bone.
It was the size of the plate.
I thought Gilders prices are competitive with other places and maybe the cafe has nothing to do with Gilders .
Behind the pub car park, look for the footpath sign to head to a village for a walk .

Ok will check the pub out, ta.
Pjm truckstop is one of my favourites, foid is brilliant, great chef who is passionate about food, roast dinners, acres of hard surface parking, you do not notice the planes landing at Coventry airport.
If you fancy a stroll, turn right out of the exit gate, go to the roundabout parallel to the airport fence , either turn left for a great pub that does nice food and real ales.
Or turn right for a pub by a river with a water mill .
The pub by William Gilders is called the Teddington Hands.
The guy that runs it is Indian and I had the crispy pulled pork starter, delicious.
If you want free parking, Tewkesbury has a few industrial estates, one West off the M5 , then walk to town or a few East off the motorway junction 9 .
Or go past Gilders heading East on the A46, there is a big layby by a country pub which gets a lot of trucks parked up there , but get in early to avoid disappointment .
At Gilders, I had the mega breakfast for an evening meal, it was very good for £8.25, smaller breky for about £4.

I had Roast lamb one time at PJM, almost gave me half a leg of meat, little things like herbs on the roasties and leeks in white sauce makes it better than the majority of pub carvery meals. Was an Indian chef on last week so had the curry and it was Indian restaurant quality. Plus pay £1 extra for a can of Stella. Without doubt the best truck stop in the country.

Formula truck stop is about 10-15 mins away from Chester services I always stop there! Big tv room decent food big clean showers! Much better place to be spending anymore time parked up than any one wants too! I have also parked at the rudi car park in Chester it’s also a coach park opposite the race course! Can have a wonder around then?
Chester races has a great food place for the stable staff. If you just follow them you can eat there without a stable pass and it’s shed loads cheaper than the normal places at the races
Doncaster has the same set up. Just follow the horsebox signs and try not to get in the way of the horses
Can you park an artic anywhere near there GF?

You wouldn’t be able to take one into the horsebox area (and wouldn’t want to, TBH) but there will be laybys nearby and you can walk
Considering the woolly 4-legged things are normally worth a fair bit the majority of security is to try and stop you pinching or nobbling one of them. Eating and drinking for humans is normally not so rigidly supervised and you have to remember that stable staff are paid a pittance, even compared to lorry drivers
Like most things, wear jeans and trainers and look like you know where you are going. For the full effect carry a bucket and have a faint whiff of manure about you Take your hi-viz off
Failing that - walk up to the security guy and ask where they feed the workers !!
